License agreement (EULA)

Last updated 2026-10-20

Version 1.0 - effective 2026-10-20

1. Who this is between

This agreement is between you and Krzysztof Surdy dev_sensei_ (sole proprietorship registered in CEIDG), 79, 27-423 Bałtów, Poland, NIP 6772434173, REGON 380068800 ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected]. If you bought Snipaya, the sale was made by our reseller Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC), which acts as merchant of record. This agreement governs how you may use the software.

2. Trial and free mode

You may use Snipaya free for 14 days. After the trial, the app keeps working in a free mode that adds a watermark to exports and locks some features until you activate a licence key.

3. Your licence

When you buy a Pro licence, we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to install and use Snipaya on up to 2 Macs at a time that you own or control. You can move the licence by deactivating it on one Mac (Settings > License) and activating it on another. A licence bought by an organisation may be assigned to one named person at a time. Snipaya requires macOS 13 Ventura or later on a Mac with Apple Silicon or Intel.

4. What you may not do

You may not:

  1. share, publish, resell, rent or sublicense your licence key;
  2. remove, disable or circumvent licence checks, watermarks or other technical protections;
  3. distribute modified copies of the app.

Nothing in this agreement limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded, including the right to make a backup copy and to decompile for interoperability under Articles 5 and 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC.

5. Licence checks

To activate and periodically re-check a licence, the app contacts Lemon Squeezy over the internet (at least once every 7 days when online). If the app cannot reach the server, Pro features keep working for a further 14 days. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

6. Updates

Snipaya checks download.snipaya.app for updates, downloads them automatically and installs them when you quit the app (you are shown what changed). Your licence includes free updates for 12 months from purchase, including updates needed to keep the app working as described and security fixes, and in any case for as long as the law requires. After that, the version you have keeps working forever. We may also change the app to improve it, keep it compatible with macOS, or comply with law or security needs. If a change would materially reduce your access to features you paid for, we will tell you in advance, and if you are a consumer you may end this agreement and receive a proportionate refund.

7. Automatic features

Auto-redact (detection and blurring of secrets and personal data), text recognition (OCR text copy) and edits made by AI assistants through the MCP server are automated aids. They are not guaranteed to find or blur every piece of sensitive information, or to recognise text correctly. You are responsible for reviewing every image before you share it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for information that was not detected or not fully obscured. This does not limit our liability for intent or gross negligence or your statutory rights (sections 11 and 12).

8. Your content

Snipaya works on your Mac. We do not see, store or process the images and text you open in it. You decide what you capture, edit and share, and you are responsible for having the right to use that content and for handling any personal data in it lawfully, including getting consent where needed. For that processing you act on your own behalf; we are not your data processor.

9. Services you connect

If you send images to a third-party service (for example an uploader, Jira or Confluence) or let an AI assistant control Snipaya through its MCP server, you choose to share that data with that service or assistant. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for what they do with it. The MCP server is off by default and only accepts connections from your own Mac; anything an assistant does through it is done on your behalf. Public image hosts may make an upload reachable by anyone who has the link. Keep your MCP access token secret; anyone who has it can control Snipaya on your Mac while the server is on.

10. Ownership

Snipaya, its code, name and artwork belong to us or our licensors. Open-source components are licensed under their own licences, listed in the app under Settings > Help > Third-party licenses; those licences prevail for those components.

11. Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights regarding digital content that does not conform to the contract (for example under Directive (EU) 2019/770 and your national law). This agreement does not limit those rights.

12. Liability

Nothing in this agreement limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, we are liable under the statutory rules of your country. If you use Snipaya for business purposes, our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the licence, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits or loss of data that regular backups would have prevented.

13. Ending this agreement

You may stop using Snipaya at any time. We may end your licence if you materially breach section 4 (for example by publishing your key). Where a breach can be fixed, we will first ask you to fix it within 14 days. A refunded licence ends when the refund is issued.

14. Export and sanctions

You may not use Snipaya in breach of applicable export control or sanctions law.

15. Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement for future versions. Changes do not take away rights you already have for the version you bought without your agreement. We will show material changes in the app before they apply to you.

16. Law and courts

Polish law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country. If you are a business, the courts having jurisdiction over the seat of the seller (Bałtów, Poland) have jurisdiction.
